Peace and Power Ministries
Ministry History:
Our church was founded on April 16, 2004. That day is DC Emancipation Day. This is significant because it was on that same day in 1862 that President Abraham Lincoln signed an order which freed the more than 3000 slaves who lived in Washington , D.C. It is also on that day that God breathed His Spirit into the nostrils of our ministry and we became a body of living souls that cares about other living souls who might still be enslaved in mind, body or soul. We held our first service at the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization multi-purpose room on Sunday April 18, 2004. For two and a half years after that, we worshipped at The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington. On May 18, 2008, we moved into our first permanent worship location at 2125 Rhode Island Avenue, NE in Washington, D.C.
